UK pair win £90 million EuroMillions jackpot
Lotto prize is British record-breaker

TWO British ticketholders shared a massive £90 million jackpot in the EuroMillions draw, Camelot revealed today.

They scooped £45,570,835.50 each – the largest lottery prizes ever paid out in the UK.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said: “This is fantastic news.

“These two ticketholders have just banked the largest lottery prizes ever paid out in the country.”

Winning numbers in the EuroMillions draw were 11, 19, 34, 43 and 45. The Lucky Star numbers were 5 and 9.

According to the Queen’s bankers Coutts & Co, each winner would earn about £6,000 a day in interest on the estimated jackpot, or £45,000 a week and £2,350,000 a year.

Until now, the largest UK lottery win had been scooped by Glasgow postal administrator Angela Kelly.

She won the £35.4 million EuroMillions jackpot in August last year.

Dolores McNamara from Ireland is still the biggest European winner, netting £77 million in July 2005.
